Viral Phylogenetics & Bioinformatics Workshop

Basic and Advanced Modules

Basic:                            1 April       - Introductory lectures        (1 day, US$100)

                                      2 April       - Practical session                (1 day, US$150)

                                      (includes: molecular epidemiology, evolution, alignments,                                      tree construction, bootstrapping, recombination                                                       detection)

                                      Instructor: Dr Stéphane Hué, Division of Infection and                               Immunity, University College London, London, UK.

Advanced:                   3 April       - Introductory lectures        (1 day, US$100)

                                      4 April       - Practical session                (1 day, US$150)

                                      (includes: maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference                                            methods, positive selection detection, coalescent theory,                                estimating evolutionary rates, dates and population                                         dynamics using BEAST)

                                      Instructor: Dr Alexei Drummond (Co-author of BEAST),                                     Department of Computer Science, University of Auckland,                                    Auckland, New Zealand.
